Dear SAS member,
Accomplished storyteller Alton Chung (www.altonchung.com) is coming to Singapore to conduct a small group coaching session in the morning followed by a workshop, Bring Characters to Life, in the afternoon. We hope you will consider being part of this meaningful experience where you will get coaching by Alton on a story you are working on, perhaps for the 398.2 Festival or other storytelling events.
The story does not have to be polished. Feel free to request for feedback to enhance your telling.
Date: Saturday, 14 September 2024
Time: 10am to 12.30pm (SGT)
(Coaching is open to 5 storytellers)
Venue: Singapore Book Council
90 Goodman Road, Blk E #03-32
Goodman Arts Centre
Singapore, 439053
(Walking distance from Mountbatten MRT station)
Ticket price: $30 (SGD)
(Refreshments will be provided)
Tellers to bring along a story and think about the area/s they want to work on.
Area/s to consider for feedback: Story content in terms of details and flow of story to keep an audience engaged, voice for characterization or pitch and inflection to convey important moments, body language as a non-verbal communication tool to convey emotions and captivate, improvisation to adapt to audience response.
We hope you will take part in this small group coaching session by Alton. He is looking forward to helping you get the best out of your storytelling.
Best wishes,
Mindy Neo
